As COVID-19 case numbers continue to improve across key markets, we are pleased to announce additional revisions to our temporary underwriting guidelines that will allow more cases to be accepted (or re-opened) and reviewed.
The bulletin linked below has a detailed overview of what has changed, but the main revisions are a resumption of our normal foreign travel guidance for most cases, and improved class criteria for several age bands over 50.
Our revised guidelines are effective immediately.
These changes build on improvements announced in August that eased restrictions around some co-morbidities, which led us to accept or re-open a substantial number of cases.
Our Underwriting and New Business teams are already gearing up to review paused or postponed cases that meet criteria for reopening, with a priority on cases submitted within the past three months. As these reviews progress, your case manager and AIG distribution team partner will touch base with you to review cases that may be eligible and verify next steps.
As always we appreciate your business during these challenging times. We continue to monitor COVID-19 data and trends, and we will evaluate and adjust our guidelines whenever possible with the goal of returning to business as usual as soon as circumstances allow.
